CES, AI, and Why Arizona Is in the Conversation
Last week, in partnership with the City of Phoenix ,I spent time at CES, and what stood out most wasn’t just the hardware or flashy demos it was how clearly AI, talent, and capital are converging into real-world ecosystems.
CES continues to be a signal-setting moment for where technology is actually heading. This year, the narrative was less about speculative AI and more about applied intelligence AI embedded into homes, mobility, manufacturing, health, and energy systems. The takeaway is clear: the next phase of innovation is about integration, not novelty.
One of the announcements that caught my attention was LG’s continued expansion and long-term commitment to the U.S., including Arizona, as part of their broader North American innovation and manufacturing footprint. Moves like this matter because they don’t just represent corporate growth they shape regional talent demand, supplier ecosystems, and downstream startup opportunities.
From a macro lens, we’re seeing:
AI moving from “feature” to infrastructure
Corporations aligning more closely with regional ecosystems
Venture capital becoming more selective, but more intentional about where innovation actually lives
That macro context sets the stage for what’s happening locally in Phoenix, which continues to punch above its weight when it comes to momentum across talent, capital, and community.
